No — it's one of the quickest fixes we do. Weather seals harden over time from sun exposure and daily vehicle crossings, and on newer masterplan streets where the landscaping hasn't matured, garage doors face more direct afternoon sun than they eventually will as the trees grow in. We carry standard T-channel seal stock on the truck that fits current Clopay, C.H.I., and Amarr doors, and we handle the replacement during the same visit as whatever else brought us out.
Usually a balance issue — a spring that's lost a small amount of tension, a cable that's slipped slightly off its drum, or a roller dragging on one side. All three are correctable during a single visit, and none of them require replacing the door. An unbalanced door is heavier than a balanced one on every cycle, which makes the opener work harder and wear faster, so catching it sooner protects the opener too.
