Referral Program Terms

1. The Program
These terms govern the Southern Garage Doors customer referral program. The program is simple: when you refer a neighbor and their first job with us is completed and paid, you both receive a thank-you reward. Participation is free, and no purchase is required to refer someone.
These terms incorporate our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy by reference. When a referred neighbor books service, that service relationship is governed by the Terms of Service.
2. Rewards
- Advocate reward: a $30 digital gift card to the person who made the referral — or, at your choice, a $35 donation to one of the charities we support, made in recognition of your referral.
- New-customer reward: a $30 digital gift card to the referred customer after their first completed, paid job.
A reward is earned only when all of the following happen: (a) the referred person is a genuinely new customer of Southern Garage Doors; (b) they book through your referral link within ninety (90) days of clicking it; and (c) their first job is completed by our technician and the invoice is paid in full. No reward is earned for clicks, quotes, bookings that don't proceed, or unpaid or refunded invoices. One reward per referred household. If a rewarded job is later cancelled or refunded, an unsent reward is withdrawn.
Rewards are fulfilled by our team after the paid job is confirmed — we'll text you when yours is on the way. Rewards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash. Current reward amounts are shown on our referral page; amounts in effect when your referral's job is paid are the amounts that apply.
3. Sharing Honestly
If you post about the program publicly — on social media, a neighborhood platform, or a review site — please say that you're in our referral program and earn a reward if someone becomes a customer. For example: "I'm in Southern Garage Doors' referral program — I get a $30 gift card if you become a customer." Rewards are never conditioned on what you say, a review's rating, or its sentiment — refer us only if you genuinely recommend us.
When sharing invitations: contact only people you personally know who would welcome the referral; never use purchased lists, bulk messaging, or automated tools; stop right away if anyone asks not to be contacted (and let us know so we don't contact them either); and please share between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. in the recipient's local time. You are the sender of any message you choose to send. We never pay for sending messages — rewards come only from a completed, paid job. Door-to-door solicitation, flyering, and using our name or logo in paid advertising are not permitted.
4. Fair Play
Rewards are for introducing genuinely new, independent customers. Self-referrals (including properties you own, rent, or manage), duplicate accounts, and referrals of existing customers do not qualify. If we see signs of manipulation we may pause rewards while we look into it; we will tell you why, give you at least fourteen (14) days to respond, and withhold a reward permanently only if we determine it arose from a violation of these terms. Legitimately earned rewards unconnected to any issue will be honored.
5. Texts and Notifications
We send referral status texts (for example, "your reward is on the way") only to program participants. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help; message and data rates may apply. Our Privacy Policy describes how referral information is handled. We never send messages to the people you refer on your behalf — sharing is always in your hands.
6. Taxes
Rewards are taxable income to the recipient. If your cumulative rewards in a calendar year reach the then-current IRS reporting threshold, we will ask you to complete a Form W-9 before further redemptions and will report the rewards on Form 1099-MISC (Box 3). A donation made at your election in recognition of your referral is treated for tax purposes as a reward to you followed by your donation. Consult your tax advisor.
7. Changes, Disputes, and Contact
We may change or end the program prospectively. Changes never reduce or cancel rewards already earned, and a referral pending within its 90-day window when a change takes effect is honored under the terms in place when the link was used. If the program ends, earned rewards remain redeemable for at least sixty (60) days.
Disputes are handled the same way as under our Terms of Service: good-faith direct resolution first, then non-binding mediation in Sarasota County, Florida, then the courts of Sarasota County, Florida, on an individual basis — with small claims court always available. Florida law governs.
An expanded version of this program (with multi-level rewards) is in preparation; when it launches, its terms will supersede these for enrolled participants, and rewards already earned under these terms will be honored.
