Pricing & Policies
Since 2013, we’ve combined licensed (FL Lic# SCC131153700), insured craftsmanship with modern systems and steady service — doing business with honesty, reliability, and respect that never go out of style.
How Our Pricing Works
At Southern Garage Doors, we believe good pricing should feel clear before any work begins.
Our system removes the guesswork so you’ll always know what you’re approving — and exactly what’s included from start to finish.
1. Clear Start — The Service Call
Every visit begins with a $169 service call, which covers travel and up to 20 minutes of labor for inspection, diagnosis, or a light repair or maintenance — whichever fits the need that day. It’s a clear, predictable starting point with no surprises or hidden charges.
2. Straightforward Estimates
After inspection, your technician explains the findings and reviews your options. We quote the total price — parts, labor, and service included — before work begins. You approve the job, and that number is the only number you’ll see on your invoice.
3. Simple, All-Inclusive Pricing
Each of our listed prices (springs, openers, and repairs) already includes the service call and standard labor. No fine print, no itemized confusion — just one clear total that covers everything you agreed to.
4. Fairness Over Negotiation
We don’t adjust pricing based on emotion, discounts, or urgency. Every homeowner receives the same rate and quality, ensuring fairness and protecting the integrity of our workmanship.
5. Accountability That Lasts
When the job is complete, your payment closes the visit and activates your warranty coverage. Our pricing is backed by written policies, clear communication, and a warranty that means what it says.
Our pricing is built to last — steady, fair, and grounded in real craftsmanship.
Each dollar reflects licensed, insured service, skilled technicians, and the kind of quiet excellence that protects your home and your peace of mind for years to come.

Spring Replacement Pricing
Every spring we replace is made in Ohio and custom-cut for one door — the one in front of us. It’s old-fashioned care with modern precision. At Southern Garage Doors, we don’t install boxed, one-size-fits-all springs. Each spring is measured, weighed, and cut on-site for the exact balance your door requires. It takes more time and training, but it delivers what matters most: a door that lifts evenly, runs quietly, and lasts longer.
Years ago, this level of craftsmanship was standard in our industry. Over time, many companies traded precision for convenience. We’ve chosen to keep doing it the right way — because balance, safety, and integrity should never be optional. When your repair is complete, you’re left with more than a working door; you’re left with the confidence that it was done right, the first time.

FAQ
Do I need to be home during the appointment?
Yes. We ask that you or another decision-maker be present for the full duration of the visit. This allows your technician to explain findings, get approvals, and ensure the result meets your expectations.
How long does a typical service appointment take?
Most visits last 45–90 minutes, depending on the type of work. Complex repairs or double-door systems may take longer, but we’ll always communicate timing clearly before we begin.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, check, and major credit or debit cards. A 3.5% processing fee applies to card payments. Payment is due upon completion.
What if my garage door or opener is older or discontinued?
We carry universal parts for most models. If your system is no longer supported by the manufacturer, we’ll explain your options clearly before proceeding — whether that’s a repair or a modern replacement.
Do you offer emergency or same-day service?
Yes, we handle urgent repairs as scheduling allows. Our AI assistant routes calls efficiently, and our team prioritizes safety-related issues first.
Are your technicians background-checked and insured?
Yes. Every technician is licensed, insured, and background-checked. We operate under Florida Specialty Contractor License #SCC131153700 and carry both liability and workers’ compensation coverage.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?
We understand things happen. Please call or text at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule. Missed or inaccessible appointments without notice may incur the standard $169 service call fee.
How can I maintain my door between visits?
Keep tracks and hinges free of debris, and avoid using heavy grease on rollers or springs. Light lubrication on moving parts twice a year helps prolong smooth operation. If you hear unusual noises or feel binding, schedule a quick inspection before further use.

Google Reviews
Joe CrinkleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic company for garage door repair. The chain on our door motor broke in the evening last Wednesday and Matthew was able to get us up and running with a new motor by a little after lunch time the very next day. Setting up the appointment was super quick and easy and he was here right on time to take a look at the problem. He offered to try and fix the old opener, but it was 18 years old, so I was ready to get it replaced. Matthew explained all of the options between the different brands and model tiers, and didn't try to upsell me at all. He recommended a model with fewer bells and whistles, which was perfect for my needs. The work was quick (couple hours max) and everything looks and works great. And to top it all off, he helped to reset the buttons on both our car mirrors so that our vehicles and garage door were back to fully integrated. From contacting them at around 8 am to fully installed and operational by 1 pm. You can't do any better with any type of home repair service. Highly recommend Southern Garage Doors. Tony GotliebTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. You can't ask for better service, quality, timeliness, or professionalism! Mathew takes a great of pride in the service and quality provided by Southern Garage Door. He is honest, incredibly competent, prompt, and professional. His work ethic is remarkable and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Mathew ……. Southern Garage Doors is simply the BEST!
Owner's reply
Thank You! JonasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Reviews are not my thing, but I would be remiss to let the fine work that Matt has done for me go without praise. I can't say enough how much I appreciate the prompt resolution and caring approach given to my broken garage door. Zero pressure sales, and should my situation have warranted spring replacement the price was less than half what I paid previously. If you live in Sarasota you owe it to yourself to contact Southern Garage Doors for help with anything you need related to your garage door. In my case there was no need to replace any parts and simply servicing what I already had was sufficient. Lee Ann RodriguezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Responded immediately, easy scheduling, excellent, friendly, and professional service. Quick turnaround with fixing the problem. Thanks Matthew! GaryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We highly recommend Southern Garage Doors to anyone looking to have their garage door system repaired & serviced and refer them as a very trustworthy company. Mathew performed an inspection including finding a couple of issues and performed meticulous adjustments! The cost of Mathews servicing we felt was more than reasonable! Anita BeelerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had my garage door serviced a couple weeks ago by a large, well known company. Service was fine but not a good fit for me with a delay, 4 hour arrival window, unclear pricing and too many package plans. Coincidentally, yesterday the large door spring broke! I read reviews and called Southern. They gave pricing over the phone and Matthew came this morning and custom cut a new spring to exactly fit. I understand few places offer this service and use precut. He also added screws to each side of the door, which he said were often left off on single doors, and replaced the light bulb. There were no extra charges for these and NO package plans. Thanks for fixing my “spring break!” 😊 Tony RootTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From the time I called until my door was fixed was under 2 hours! joseph murphyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt was great. Best garage service I've ever received. How best? Matt repaired every little fault he found with either door but kept the total price at his original estimate which was reasonable and less than what I expected. Matt took the time to explain to me how to change access codes, other suppliers acted like it was difficult. And, I loved the formal repair summary that Matt left for me to review. Thanks and Peace Joe Murphy D BTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matthew came to replace our garage door spring and did an excellent job. He communicated clearly, was kind, and took the time to answer all of my questions. Thank you, Matthew! mike kellyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. these guys are great. called at 8:15 am for a door that got off track and bent when tailgate of SUV got caught in door not allowing door to open manually or with opener.
